Do I need tourist visa travel 30-60days from Australia

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm planning to travel to Phuket for approximately 45 days, have return ticket for that time frame. Would I have any issues at immigration in Thailand if I travel without a visa (30days allowed) and get extension in Thailand? I know I can get tourist visa here for 60 days but Thai embassy has been closed last couple of days so I'm delaying my trip until the visa is granted or alternatively I could leave ASAP and get the extension while in Thailand.

Thanks for your help

You could enter getting a 30 day visa exempt entry that can be extended for 30 days at an immigration office for a fee of 1900 baht.

You would have no problem with immigration but you may be asked for a ticket out of the country within 30 days by the airline in order to board yout flight. You could get a one way ticket to a nearby country on a low cost airline such as Air Asia to show if needed.

Thanks mate

I just spoke to the airline which was actually air asia on the phone and they said they would have no issues with me boarding if my return ticket was for 45 days later... .then again it could be completely different at the airport

Just to confirm if the airline has no problem with me boarding, you believe I shouldn't have any issue when I arrive in Thailand getting through without a return ticket within 30days?

Regards

No problem on arrival here. Immigration will not ask to see a ticket out.
