Bee finally gets a minority stake in Italian club Milan

BANGKOK: -- Thai businessman Bee Taechaubol has finally reached an agreement to buy a 48 per cent stake in AC Milan, arguably Italy's most glamorous club, after months of negotiations.

Doubts had been cast over the Thai's much-publicised bid to acquire a stake in the Serie A club owned by former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi, as the two parties engaged in negotiations that have lasted since June.

On Sunday, the 39-year-old Bee confirmed about the deal by posting a picture of him shaking hands with Berlusconi, with the contract papers placed in front of the pair on the table.

"A great honour to complete the AC Mlian agreement with president Berlusconi, a phenomenal leader," Bee wrote on Instagram.

A spokesman of Berlusconi's holding company Fininvest told Reuters that the acquisition of the stake would be completed by the end of September. "A deadline of September 30 has been set for the transfer of the stake and payment of the 480 million euros by September 30," said the spokesman, referring to a deal that still left Berlusconi and his holding company as the majority shareholders.

Bee also gave an insight into his plans for the club, which fell from grace after winning the last of their 18 Serie A titles, in 2011, in an interview with Mediaset - a company owned by Berlusconi. "We signed an agreement that allows our investors to start working very soon for the club. We agreed that we want to make Milan grow more around the world.

One corrupt crook complimenting another corrupt crook, how nice.

I had a look on the net and didn't see anything to suggest that "Bee" is any more corrupt than another successful businessman!
