Type O visa, any problems going back home for a holiday

Featured Replies

hi guys, I have a type O visa(marriage) and havent been out of the country now for a few years but will be going back to Australia in October for 3 weeks. My 90 day reporting is in September so that is ok but wanted to know if I have to do anything/notify immigration I am leaving the country for 3 weeks. Renewal is due in december so that is ok too but want to be sure I dont bugger anything up by not doing the right thing.

Is there anything I need to do/know.

Thanks guys.

Get yourself a re- entry permit

You need a re-entry permit, contact the immigration office with a 2-inch photo copy of passport (main page and latest entry stamp)

fees for re-entry permits are 1,000 Baht for single and 3800 for the multiple

Do you have a "Visa" or an extension of stay which is not a visa.

As you say you have not been out of the country for a few years suggests you do indeed stay here on the basis of an extension of stay.

If you wish to leave the country and keep the extension to stay alive you must purchase a re-entry permit. Obtainable from immigration at a cost of 1000 Bht for a single re-entry permit.
