US tourist tried on bag-snatching accusations

Featured Replies

An American tourist was tried yesterday by the Phnom Penh Municipal Court on allegations that he stole a Dutch woman’s bag at a guesthouse in the capital’s Daun Penh district in March.

Judge Meng Tony said that defendant Justin Alan Bauch, 33, had been staying at the Dolphin Guesthouse for several days in a room near that of the 23-year-old Dutch victim.

“He entered to steal the victim’s bag inside her room while she was having a bath and forgot to close her [door],” he said. “After stealing it, he hid the victim’s bag under his bed inside the room. Police [later] confiscated the victim’s bag from his room.”

Last week went to kaosan road to find some middle eastern food and was amazed at what i witnessed.

a caucasian female (tourist?) walking nonchalantly grabbed a skewer of bbq chicken off a street vendor grill and kept on walking. the vendor ran and confronted her telling her she stole his food. he repatriated the skewer and that was it.

Little does she know how close she is livig life on the edge !

She's lucky he didn't skewer and barbecue her.

what kind of a fool was the American? Hiding the bag under his bed??
