PATTAYA: -- On Friday the Deputy Chief Abbot of a Temple in East Pattaya revealed to the local press that 18,000 Baht was stolen from him in an unusual manner which the Monk believes involves him being drugged.

The incident took place at the Kow Magok Temple just before 7am on 12th August. A couple, who presented themselves as Husband and Wife came to the Temple and appeared to have come to make merit.

The only "unusual" thing I see here is that it worked the other way around.

They got merit,18,000 Baht's worth, good luck,we'll come here again

Yeah, when I first glanced at the headline I read "As usual...monk steals money".

Are monks supposed to have money?

Are they supposed to take women into their quarters?

I love the tall tales these monks concoct to cover up some other sorted mess they've go themselves into.

Perhaps it's the translation that makes it sound even more ridiculous.

It's a good way to explain the missing 18,000 Baht of temple funds to his boss though, inventive, i like it, Arther Daily's the name, where's my ready's
