August 15, 201510 yr Hey All, Is there a collection point for donations here in Chiang Mai? Back in NA i used to give my old things to the salvation army. Is there something similar here or a charity you can recommend? Rgs SM
August 15, 201510 yr According to post I have seen on FB, there is a bar on Chiang Moi, (around the corner from old Mike's Burgers) called The Crazy German. The owner takes collections of donated good to poor kids in rural areas.

August 16, 201510 yr The Thai Freedom House, which runs the Free Bird Cafe, just outside the north part of the Old City runs an on-site collection site for items for Burmese refugees. Some items are kept there for resale, also. A friend bought a really nice set of gently used ladies golf clubs there. Obviously, the Burmese migrant laborers aren't going to need golf clubs, but they sure can use the proceeds from the sale of items like that. http://thaifreedomhouse.org/ If you have children's clothing, then send me a PM. The Chiang Mai International Rotary Club will conduct a Children's Winter Clothing drive, starting in October. Just about any children's and small-size clothing is needed.
