BobTH
I live in Lumpini in Bangkok. I broke a porcelain crown this morning and need to get it replaced. I have a dentist that has been fine as far as cleaning and filling a small cavity that I had a year or two ago but I was wondering if most regular dental clinic dentist are qualified to replace my crown or if I should go to a more specialized dentist that has more expertise in this type of dental work? I always used my regular dentist for this kind of work in the USA but not knowing the qualifications here I thought I would ask others in this forum. If you have had this type of procedure done here in Thailand, your input would be appreciated. I am not in pain but would like to get it repaired as soon as possible, but before I call my dentist I thought I would get others input here. Thanks in advance. Sheryl
It needs specialization to do the root canal that generally precedes a crown. But to just replace a missing crown it is only a matter of taking a mold and then sending out for the crown. I would think your regular dentists could handle this. The main issue is to get the right quality material and a good color match to your other teeth. The dentists should confirm with you the type of material and also show you color planned, holding up a sample to your teeth for you to see.
