Centipedes Galor Chez Moi

Having never seen a centipede in the house before, I've just found seven of them in a little over an hour.

What will drive a centipede into the house? It hasn't rained for a couple of days. I did get the grass cut a few days ago.

Helpfully, I found that they can be killed by regular mosquito insecticide.

Any tips on keeping them outside?

Should I buy a pair of stilts?
