I am British Passport Holder 64 Age. For Past 4 years getting Non Immigrant O visa from Thai Embassy Birmingham earch year for multi Entry. This Year I have been told that has stopped and I can get that only in 2016 (when I am 65 and show State Pension papers). Instead they issued me Tourist Visa for three entries valid for 6 months and told I will get 60 days on Arrival and I can extend twice for 60 days each with Immigratioin Office. Will I be able to do this ? Can I get this conveted in Retirement Visa when I am there. In past twhen they used to give me yearly Non Immigrant O Visa they used to check my Thai Bank Account which has good balance. Any help guidance will be well appriciated.

You will get 3 entries of 60 days.

Each entry can be extended by 30 days at Immigration.

Giving a total of almost 9 months.

You will lose a few days of your final entry.

Yes you can upgrade in Thailand if you qualify.

800,000 Baht in the bank

65,000 Monthly income.

Or a combination of both.

Birminghm is a Honorary Thai Consulate not an Embassy. You have been lucky to have recieved a multi entry "O" visa for so long !

The three entry tourist visa can be extended by thirty days three times one per 60 day entry at an immigration office for 1900 Bht. You will need to leave the country at the end of each extension.Returning , whilst the visa is valid, will provid another 60 day stay.

Be sure to make the last entry before "enter before date" you will find on the visa.

You can obtain a non "O" visa entry conversion but only in Bangkok and you will be required to visit immigration twice. You will need to apply with at least 15 days permission to stay remaing.

To obtain the visa you must have proof of 800,000 in a Thai Bank.

With this O visa you can apply for an extension of stay with proof of 800,000 in the bank during the last 30 days of the 90 day stay the visa will provide.
