Non 'o' Marriage Visa.

Featured Replies

My situation is this:

I arrived in April on a multiple entry non 'o' marriage visa. I got this from the consulate in Amsterdam.

I did a visarun in June and now have until 26 september.

My plan was to go back to the Netherlands before that, but circumstances are that i have to stay until 15-20 oktober.

Is it possible to get an extension for these 3 weeks in Bangkok at an immigration office or is a border run the only option?

K. Jean;

What basis was your Non-O issued - Marraige, Family etc ?

I suggest you approach immigration and ask them.

They may well give you the 3 weeks you need.

Otherwise you will need to do a visa run returning to LOS before the 26th.

You can enter on your existing visa!!!!!

On arrival you will get a new 90 day stamp which will solve your problems.

Thanks Astral,

I tried to find the immigration office addresses in Bangkok but failed.

I am near Don Muang airport. They have an office there too?

Khutan, I have it because i am married. This is my 3rd non 'o' visa.

Normally i travel back within three months and i did a visa run twice to get a new 90 days stamp.

My situation now is that i can not afford to loose time with doing a visarun, if i have to than so be it, if it can be done faster preferably in Bangkok it will be a lot better.

Thanks for the replies.

edit: I am silly. Just saw the pinned topic with addresses of immigration offices.

A multi entry non immigrant O visa as you said you had in OP has a validity of one year so I suspect you did not have that?

I think i used the wrong word in the OP.

My multiple entry non immigrant type O visa is valid until april 2007.

Normally i travel to the Netherlands before the 90 days are over.

I did a border run twice in past years but this time i have too much to do here in Bangkok.

I called a friend from a friend who works for immigration, and he said i can get a 14 days stamp, and after that i can get another.

Unfortunately the 14 days will give me until 9 oktober, just a few days short of what i need.

As things look the way they are now, i am going to do a border run tomorrow morning. :o

This I find confusing, as I understand it and my experience suggests that ,if you have a marriage extension you need not leave the country. Last year I had a single non im. O visa which lasted 90 days, a few days before expiry I got this extended at my local Immigration office for 1 year on the grounds that I am married. I did have to report at the Im. office every 90 days, but never had to leave the country.Of course you do need to have 400,000 baht in your bank account when you first apply for the extension. I am about to go through the whole process again........

K. Jean does not have the one year extension but rather a multi entry visa.

K. Jean, may I suggest that when you go to Immigration to extend your visa you bring your ticket with you? My nephew would have overstayed 2-3 days and the Immigration officer just gave him the extra based on the departure date on his ticket. No extra charge, just he looked sincere, was polite and asked very nicely.

SBK, Astral;

Both are correct. By my understanding an extesnion like that should be approved by Immigration.
