Their Majesties give assistance to bomb victims

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha revealed today that Their Majesties the King and Queen have given assistance to those who have been victimised by the deadly bomb explosion at the Erawan shrine.

Gen Prayut said the Office of His Majesty’s Principal Private Secretary has informed that Their Majesties have given assistance to those injured victims which will cover medical expenditures that exceed their rights for medical bills and 90,000 baht in expense for family of each dead victim.

For foreign victims, the prime minister said Their Majesties have given them flowers to boost their morals and spirits.

PHUKET: -- The brunt of the tourism fallout from the deadly bombing in Bangkok on Monday (August 17) has yet to reach the shores of Phuket, with not a single flight service cancelled and immediate booking cancellations massing to only 5 per cent of occupancy, say leading tourism officials.

Malfunctioning body scanners at Parliament seen as corrupt procurement

BANGKOK, 20 August 2015 (NNT) - The National Legislative Assembly (NLA) has been urged to inspect its body scanning systems, as the unusually high occurrence of breakdowns and repairs may be due to corrupt activities.

A year after the murder of Volker Schwarges friends and family wonder if justice will ever be served

KOH SAMUI: -- Exactly one year ago today German born Volker Schwarges, 46, was beaten and stabbed to death in Soi Green Mango in Chaweng Samui. Police investigating the case soon established that three youths between the ages of 15 and 17 were responsible for the killing that came about after Mr. Volker berated the group for sitting on his motorcycle in the parking lot of the nightclub.

At least 10 involved in Erawan bombing, some of them Thais, police say

BANGKOK: -- Police spokesman Pol Lt Gen Prawut Thawornsiri on Thursday said those involved in the deadly bomb attack at the Erawan Shrine worked as team, which probably had no fewer than 10 members.

S. Korea: Rival Koreas trade artillery fire at border

Tuk-Tuk Driver Who Took Bomber to Shrine Steps Forward

BANGKOK — The top suspect in Bangkok’s deadly bomb attack traveled to the scene from a location halfway between the Hua Lamphong Railway Station and Chulalongkorn University, according to the man who says he drove him there.
