"Urging citizens to take extra care" ??

And how does a citizen do this ?

What they mean is you should walk around with your eyes and ears open. then you might know what is going on around you and not being drunk all day and night.

Yes, perhaps one should stick to quieter areas with less crowds, perhaps sit in a nice quiet Cafe somewhere ..... such as the Lindt Chocolate cafe in Martin place in Sydney.

Even safer .... just stay in your hotel room. be sure to pick a nice 5 star, high quality one - the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai springs to mind.

Or stick to highbrow cultural events, much less likely to let the riff-raff in there -perhaps if you find yourself in Moscow a performance of Nord-ost would be in order.

Or just stick with something less conspicuous - go watch a movie ... especially if you are in Aurora Colorado ....

Or go run a marathon..Boston

The real concern for TAT and the Junta is whether the Chinese government issues a warning to its citizens. Like NCPO "advisories", CCP "guidance" has the effect of directing the Chinese people.

The Junta has now declared that hope for GDP growth in 2015 will rely solely on tourism. Another serious bombing incident that appears to target Chinese tourists will likely evoked a "warning" from the CCP. And that will end Thailand's only source for economic growth for 2015. A terrorist couldn't ask for a better reason to attempt further bombings if the intention is to damage the nation's economy.

The first one on this topic surprise surprise, the Junta the Junta the Junta, and lo and behold it is one of the minority wind up anti government TVF members.

Look my friend this one off as they call it--is worldwide spasmodic action against anyone that does not conform to the killers thinking---example ISIL.

Go somewhere else.

Did the same countries issue warnings about Turkey as well?

The current violence in Turkey is much worse than it is in Thailand, what do you think?

"Due to a record of past terrorist attacks in Turkey and a continuing threat from both transnational and indigenous groups, the threat level for the possibility of further terrorist attacks against U.S. citizens and interests remains critical,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,." http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/english/country/turkey.html

You do realize (if you register) the U.S. State Department sends travel warnings and advisories only for countries you request. You don't get sent info for EVERY country when issued.

Not really, groups with a cause normally fess up and claim responsibility. One off attacks like this do not often happen, there will be more or already has been possibly.. ( Thaksin Bridge )

They have banged up enough people for LM of late and upset a good few fishermen and traffickers, it could easily be a powerful Thai mafia family.

If it were ISIL they would have already claimed responsibility.

They dont seem to have a scooby clue but I thought it interesting right off the back cabinate shuffling was on the list of originas, interestingly that.

Go to America and get shot or beaten by cops (Fergeson Mo. and many many other cities) Get killed in a mass shooting, watching a movie at a theater (Denver) Get blown up running a marathon (Boston) Have your kids killed by school shooters (Sandyhook, Colombine) Get massecred at an army base by an Army psychiatrist ( Texas) Just live in Chicago where dozens of people ar killed in any given week.

Etc etc etc ad infinitum .... Travel advisory anyone?

What is a "negative travel advice" ?

"Urging citizens to take extra care" ?

In this case there is no way you can completely protect yourself, even if you "take care".

It's just not to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Where will the next bomb be?

MBK, Siam or maybe Nana Plaza? Hua Hin or Pattaya? Try to avoid "crowded" places?

High risk? Forget about it. Just behave like always, keep smiling.

Only not going to Thailand is an safe option, but there are many more dangerous places in the world.

I just booked my flight to BKK early October, now standby to see what happens in the next few weeks.

Things must get really extreme there before I decide to cancel.

carry a bomb detector?

It's a meaningless phrase that they feel obliged to utter, as they would be criticized if they didn't and another bombing killed/ injured their citizens. It gets bad when insurance companies use it as an excuse not to honour their commitments though.
