Bangkok bombings now believed to be internal conflict rather than international terrorism

8-19-2015-9-43-03-PM-wpcf_728x413.jpg

BANGKOK: -- Security authorities now seem to give more weight in local conflict rather than international terrorism as stronger motive in the two bombing incidents at Ratchaprasong and Taksin bridge as investigation inched closer to persons masterminding the bombings.

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha today called on the Ratchaprasong bomb suspect to surrender to the police saying he might be “silenced” by those who paid him to do the job.

He said what he was most worried about the bombing was that the bomb suspect might be silenced by his payer and therefore he urged him or others who were paid to come out to see the police with promise that the police would give them full protection.

Gen Prayut also said he believed the bombing was a work of more than one person or a movement which involved the payer.

The reason for doing that was still inclusive but he gave more weight to internal affairs.

The prime minister also thanked countries which offered help and voiced their concern.

At the same time Royal Thai Police commissioner Pol Gen Somyot Poompunmuong said there were more persons involved in the bombings.

He also indicated internal conflict as the motive saying the bombing was well organized in order to discredit the government.

The bombings were carried out by organized movement so as to intimidate foreign tourists, foreign investors not to come to Thailand.

“They wanted to discredit the government, undermine the economy so as to make foreign investors to lose confidence in the country,” he said.

"Internal Conflict" ???

I thought the "sketch" of the suspect was a foreigner.

Huh? They said 10 minutes ago the suspect was a foreigner? Dear oh dear,. Thailand really has the govt it deserves now

Edited by Thai at Heart

You guys...no one take you seriously after the Koh Tao travesty.

CNN said the bomber left on a motorcycle taxi, and while on the taxi spoke on his phone in a "foreign" language that was not English.

Let's recap:

1) The main suspect is a foreigner

2) He had help, maybe Thais

3) It was well organized

Which leads us to conclude

4) The motivation is internal affairs

Well, I for one am totally convinced by this iron clad reasoning.

Now the govt is running scared because they actually have no idea who did it. So pick a shirt, any colour will do.....

The RTP have no idea of what is going on. The sketch of the suspect could be anybody, any nationality. Has the RTP considered disguises? Forget face and ask for outside help. Damn that will never happen.

Let's recap:

1) The main suspect is a foreigner

2) He had help, maybe Thais

3) It was well organized

Which leads us to conclude

4) The motivation is internal affairs

Well, I for one am totally convinced by this iron clad reasoning.

There may be more than meets the eye.

Given history we may be sceptical.

But let's not be so naive.

And this afternoons prediction will be?

Clueless.........totally clueless.

And this afternoons prediction will be?

Possibly whatever best suits the govt's purposes and the truth, well that's another matter altogether.

I cannot understand this practice of a running commentary and premature conclusions on behalf of the RTP and Thai government officials. Let the investigators do their job and when there is conclusive evidence, make it public. All these statements are distractions for the investigating officers and must be very distressing for the victims and their families.

Our fearless leader brings to mind a lyric from someone called Bob Dylan:

"Idiot wind, blowing every time you move your mouth".

Why don't they simply pick up the phone and call one of 100 competent countries police forces to help.

Let's recap:

1) The main suspect is a foreigner

2) He had help, maybe Thais

3) It was well organized

Which leads us to conclude

4) The motivation is internal affairs

ad 1, yes, a western farang with a middle east touch, without saying jew.

ad 2. perhaps, but based on the work of profieler,

they see a man, hiding his arm tatoos very professional,

wearing a t shirt with political symbolic colors yellow and red.

The fact, that he covers his tatoos shows us, that he is using his t shirt for the message,

“They wanted to discredit the government, undermine the economy so as to make foreign investors to lose confidence in the country,”

And the foreign investors, who are they ? And the foreign tourists, who are they ? They are CHINESE, we all know that. Now, who has got something against the Chinese ?? We need to hunt them down.

CNN said the bomber left on a motorcycle taxi, and while on the taxi spoke on his phone in a "foreign" language that was not English.

Well, Thailand, the English speaking hub of ASEAN. This taxi driver should know! cheesy.gif

Clueless.........totally clueless.

And to emphasise that point they keep on talking.

"Internal Conflict" ???

I thought the "sketch" of the suspect was a foreigner.

The police sketch shows an asian, but they were saying he was a foreigner. A foreign asian? So they are sure he is not Thai? And today they say 'internal conflict'? Why would a foreigner have any interest in Thai politics to the extent of murdering tourists? I think the RTP don't have a flying clue I need another coffee1.gif

CNN said the bomber left on a motorcycle taxi, and while on the taxi spoke on his phone in a "foreign" language that was not English.

Isan or Khmer Surin are foreign languages.

By the way, the final story will be what will fit with "their" plans.

CNN said the bomber left on a motorcycle taxi, and while on the taxi spoke on his phone in a "foreign" language that was not English.

Maybe he had a Geordie accent?

Just reported that he was overheard saying " Ow ya goin Curly its Bluey ere "

On the BBC news at 0700 reporter Steve Evans said " We Are Now In The World Of Surmise ! "

clap2.gif Exactly !

Another farce in the making....honestly, these people would find it hard to distinguish sh!t from clay. Condolences to the victims.

If they don't come up with new insights etc. they are afraid people will think they are clueless.

Don't want to give bad impressions, eh?

Just 3 mins ago the Channel 7 OZ news has said that the suspect was a foreigner , the obvious first choice would be internal, the Junta has lots of enemy's , includes the purple circle and outside , another 2 years of the Junta might not sit well with everyone with Thailand under a dictatorship, you also have the scum in the south that might be starting to extend it's area of influence and if you look at the suspects photo from the hips down suggests Asian. A very small light on the horizon is the AFP is working in the back ground assisting the Thai security. coffee1.gif

It's easy to blame it on internal conflict, as they know that without tourist numbers they'd be like wallowing like a walrus in mud right now due to their superb predictions on growth for the economy.

The Thai Government will do all it can to pull the wool over everyones eyes, they cant agree on what version of events are best, one minute it's a foreigner, the next it's internal, it's then Uihigaurs, then it's just a random loony.. here's a hint, conduct your investigation thoroughly before opening your gobs in a blatant attempt to manipulate the incident to your advantage!!!

Never mind the poor victims, the priority was allaying the concerns about tourism!!!

priorities indeed!!

The suspect actually looks more Iranian to me, but then again, he also looks very similar to a young Meghrahi the Libyan Pan Am bomber.

and meanwhile Thai astrologer, soothsayer and prophet Khun Noknik Knownothingsabumsteer predicts "he may have been wearing a disguise"

they will spin it to look like Junta opossition to make it look like they are the victims. If it is discovered that it is revenge for the repatriation of the Uigers then it will be the Juntas fault as no country in the world could believe what they had done and they were condemned comprehensively

The Yellow shirt he was wearing might be a clue?
