Possible land encroachment on Phuketʼs Bangla Rd

28 businesses could be removed in it is found they are encroaching on public land in Bangla Rd.

PHUKET: -- A committee which was set up to look into land encroachment on Patongʼs Bangla Rd say it is possible that 28 businesses could be removed if their title deeds are found to be invalid.

Phuket health advisory issued over forest fire haze

PHUKET: -- The health chief for Phuket has issued an advisory for people with breathing difficulties, as well as children and the elderly, to stay indoors, away from the haze that has descended on Phuket today (August 27).

Normal operations at Krabi airport despite haze

KRABI: -- Krabi International Airport reported normal operations this afternoon despite haze.

Withawat Phakdeesantisakul, director of the airport, said that the haze has not yet affected the operations. The airport still can accommodate 40 daily flights, he said.

The province reported 2,000 metres of visibility.

Several provinces in the southern part of Thailand has encountered haze, caused by fires in Indonesia.

Czech expat dies in Phuket motorbike crash

Mr Krupka was already dead when police and rescue workers arrived at the scene.

PHUKET: -- A 44-year-old man from the Czech Republic died in the early hours of this morning when he crashed his motorbike near the Kathu temple following a trip to Patong with his son.
