April 5, 200422 yr Does anybody know if a DVD bought in the US will work in a DVD player bought in Thailand; vise versa? not the answer you want to hear, but some do and some don't. here is a link that was posted before for hacks that can reprogram many different dvd player brands to accept all regions. DVD Player Hack List
April 5, 200422 yr Yes, if the dvd player you buy is a "code-free" model. Dvds and players used to have regional codes, restricting playback to matching codes i.e. dvd will only play on player bought in same region. These days this practice is being dropped. We just bought a code-free player from the panasonic shop in Emporium - i.e. the manufacturers are now selling code-free models, before you used to have to get them hacked to be code-free. FWIW same player can probably be bought in MBK for 1,500 less.
April 6, 200422 yr you also need to make sure it plays on Pal TV for Thailand and NTSC for USA many players will do both but some will not
