Sot thua

Featured Replies

Can SOT THUA (ซอสถั่ว) be construed as 'peanut sauce'? Could it possibly cover 'soy sauce'?

If not, what would the meaning be and what would be the Thai term for 'peanut sauce'?

Thank you for your help.

Edited by Kanga Japan

ซอสถั่ว is simply incomplete. ซอสถั่วเหลือง for soy sauce. ซอสถั่วลิสง for peanut sauce.

However, I think น้ำจิ้มสะเต๊ะ is probably more common for peanut sauce.

Dear AyG,

Thank you very much for that.

I also have the following for soy sauce:

NAM SI-IO (น้ำซีอิ๊ว )

SI-IO (ซีอิ๊ว)

I hope they are correct.

Correct. ซีอิ๊ว is simply the Chinese name for it.
