Lite Beer Posted August 29, 2015 Share Posted August 29, 2015 Pattaya club could face 5-year closure after raidThe Sunday Nation PATTAYA: -- A Pattaya club faces being closed for five years for allegedly violating an order issued under section 44 of the interim constitution.The club in Soi Diamond was raided by Provincial Administrative Organisation officials and police early yesterday morning.It is alleged the club operated beyond the legal time, employed five "coyote" female dancers aged under 20 and urine tests on patrons revealed drug abuse, said Pornsit Jitramwong, an assistant Bang Lamung district chief who joined the raid.The decision on whether to close the club rests with the Chon Buri governor.In Bangkok's Chatuchak district, a raid led by Department of Juvenile Observation head Weerayuth Sukcharoen took place at 2.30am yesterday at a restaurant in Soi Vibhavadi-Rangsit 16.The restaurant allegedly served alcohol to customers aged under 18 and operated beyond the 1am closing time.Twenty-four customers were not carrying their Thai national identity card. Police questioned them and the venue's owner, Jian Inchuchan, 37, at Sutthisan Police Station.Weerayuth said the venue faced being closed for five years in accordance with section 44.The 24 who were not carry an ID card face a Bt5,000 fine each. Regarding the Pattaya club: Soi Diamond is not the typical place where Thai men are served. The name of the club will surely be found in other sources. Is it one of the bigger gogo spots? In Pattaya it is just a code word for girls with the minimum required lingerie on (to dance in "open" places). Inspired by a film called "Coyote Ugly" from 2000. Usually opens until 8.00am. Been a few times. The only other place that is like an after hours bar (when the discos close at 6 or 7am) playing music is open until 10.00am, on a small soi off WS. This bar is actually open 24 hours, serving beer and playing pool but is best known as the main after disco place. There is talk this place will not be opening so late for to long. There is one more place that is a pool hall that opens until about 11am, but is mostly a Arab hangout for after the Arab bars and disco closes. Upstairs behind the restaurant was a full on club...had a great time!! Came out when the sun came up. I doubt that this is the only one in Bangkok...or Pattaya....get to know a few locals! The original post stated the patrons inside did not have their Thai identity card on them; so unless a large group of Thai women were out that morning, it must have been Thai men or ladyboys. Man....that place is NUTS! Yes, I've had a few crazy mornings in the place. As you probably know it used to be where the old Insomnia used to be, upstairs, with the curtains closed until about 11am then bang they open the curtains and you are blinded by the sun. Must be bigger than I thought? Interesting article that I really have to question. There is no way there were 70 staff. Maybe 7. You can't get more than 70 people in the place, it's a very small joint. I've never seen more than 10 staff (3 bar tenders + 5 girls + 2 security) and I've been about 10 times.
