chingmai331
Current visa expires 5 October, but mid-September is very busy for me. Can i go to Prom and re-apply on 3 September?
PattayaClub
You did not mention the type of extension. I am assuming you refer to a one year marriage or retirement visa extension. You can go in 30 days in advance of your current expiration date. If you go in before then, they may tell you to come back, but it depends on the office. It certainy won't hurt to try unless it is a long trip for you.
peterjackson
There have been several reports on TVF that Chiang Mai would allow Retirement Extensions up to 45 days prior to expiration. But since CM Immigration opened the new zoo at Promenada, there has been all sorts of weird procedures reported. The present situation could well have changed. If you do go before the 30 days, please post your experience, it would be really appreciated.
Suradit69
Current visa expires 5 October Presumably you mean your current extension of stay expires?? If you are talking about an extension of stay based on retirement or marriage, some reports say renewal applications are accepted in Chiang Mai up to 45 days early. In any event, don't draw attention to the dates. Just hand over the application. See Ubonjoe's comment, post #2 in this thread. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/764968-annual-extension-for-retirement-at-chiang-mai-immigration/ If you mean you're here on a tourist visa entry, not sure if they would allow an extension so early. mesquite
OP should clarify as respondents are forced to make assumptions. Type of visa, etc. "Re-apply"? Implies you have applied once already... However, it's clear he's talking about the Chiang Mai office. Edited August 31, 2015 by mesquite

Due to the ending of the internet "Queue Online" procedure applicants can now apply for the annual visa application 45 days prior to the end of the existing visa. This was stated be the new Promenada immigration office and they suggested that applicants should arrive early in the morning at about 7 AM in order to be part of 20 applicants that will be used daily. Actually they have been able to apply 45 days in advance for quite some time. I did it in January.
