Situation:

One year work permit expires 30 September and will not be extended

One year visa extension stamp dated 19 October ( I only realised today that I could have extended the wp to the same date )

90 day reporting due 16 September

Questions:

Still do 90 reporting?

Does the visa extension terminate the same date as the wp expiry or not?

What is the best procedure to follow in order to stay another two months for a holiday?

I am in Phuket and originally converted the tourist to non B visa at Penang with no problems

You do your 90 day reporting as usual.

Your extension of stay ends the same day your work end.

To stay another two months you must leave the kingdom and get a new visa.

Your extension of stay ceases to be valid on the day you stop work.

If you wish to stay a new visa must be obtained from one of the nearby countries.

The 90 day report should be done.

You can

1. Leave the country on the day you cease work.

Or

2. Apply for a seven day extension at immigration.

The work extension is invalid from the day work ceases, there is no need for any overstay.
