I am considering moving to Thailand for a couple of months and hiring a couple of Thais to do some basic computer work. Probably I would just work out of an apartment where I would stay.

I lived in Thailand before and am familiar that there is a pretty open market for business, but how does this work for the type of situation I am considering?

Thanks for any notes on things I should be considering!

Thanks

And how do you propose to tackle your WP ? Typically someone who works on line does so behind closed doors and keeps quiet about it, but wanting to employ Thai ? All it would take is one of them to called the authorites and report you for working illegally and you might have Mr Plod knocking on your door

It's no problem for you to pay a couple of Thais to do some work for you but if you want to work too you need a work permit. Getting a work permit isn't straightforward and requires that you're employed by a Thai entity.

As Soutpeel says most IT guys work at home under the radar, but if you were to work with Thais thats going to be difficult unless you go legit.
