To Renew My Visa Can I Go To A Different Office ?

I have lived in Khon Kaen for 5 years and have always gone to Nong Khai immigration office for visa renewal. I have also always done my 90 day reporting by post to them and never missed.

In light of the belligerent attitude reportedly being shown by Nong Khai I wondered if I can renew my retirement visa elsewhere.

I happen to be in Pattaya three weeks before it expires, can I renew it there instead of Nong Khai? Perhaps with their greater experience of farangs they will be more relaxed. I stress that I do qualify by reason of combined money in the bank and pension income and will take two copies of everything needed. And my wife will be with me too.

I suppose the worst they can say is go and renew at Nong Khai and I will have time after the holiday to be able to do that. But while I am in Pattay, why not? But is it allowed ?

As long as you have the required documents, I agree that you should be able to renew your stay elsewhere.
