farang1979
I didn't file a tax return last year. In my defence the entire document was in Thai and there wasn't any instruction from my company as to what to do with it. So it got left and forgotten about. Now I have started in a new school, when it came to applying for my tax ID I told them I already had one. As I didn't file a tax return past year, I was told my previous employer would need to complete a withholding tax form. I always paid tax in my previous job however I have a good friend who is an accountant and he said that because I left my previous employer in April of this year, I will have to pay a fine of 22,000 baht. I've no idea how he worked it out however it just doesn't seem right that they would ask me to stump up such a large amount. Does anyone have any experience of this or has this happened to anyone before at all? Thanks

p_brownstone
I have sent you a Private Mail on this topic. Why do people send non-confidential messages via PM - especially when the information might be of interest to others? Patrick
meatboy
surerly if his previous employer has been stopping tax from his wage they should be responsible for sending it to the revenue office.
