British Embassy appointment system,when do i receive affirmation document

I have been caught out by this new system as i can not get an appointment for a week.I need income letter for immigration, my question is ,do i receive this letter at the end of the appointment or is it sent to me later ? Also can you be a few days late to extend visa ? i doubt this very much but if the embassy does not give me the letter on the same date as the appointment i'm sunk.

The Embassy does letters confirming income exclusively by mail.

I have just received my letter, and it came by return of post. Excellent service.

I have been applying and receiving my affirmation letter by post from the Embassy for the last six years. The only thing that has altered each year is the fee the embassy charge. Otherwise an excellent service by both the embassy and Royal Thai Mail.
