New Passport Conundrum re B Visa and Exiting Country

Featured Replies

Any info is appreciated and thanks in advance.

I am in Thailand on the end of a B visa which expires next week. Just before the last entry I got a new one year validity passport on an emergency basis, ( ran out of 6 month validity just as I need a 90 day border stamp,)

and successfully transferred the B visa, and reentered on it.

As there was no charge for it, since then I've gotten another, regular ten year passport and the temporary passport was cancelled.

I still have it in my possession along with the older passport and the departure card.

As I am on the tail end of the B visa, I have not transferred the B visa to the new passport, it is completely blank.

Can anyone foresee a problem when I exit the country next week? Of course I plan to take all three passports, plus the Embassy letters and plan a return on a tourist visa in the new passport ( hopefully).

Visas from an embassy or consulate are not transferred. Immigration will transfer an extension of stay done by them.

What do you have?

If you have a visa you can just leaver the country showing the passport with your last entry in it and your new passport.

My last entry was done on the B visa, which is now expired- so I'm OK it seems. Thanks again so much for your continued help
