Late With 90 Day Reporting - Flying Out In 2 Weeks

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am about 2 weeks late with my 90 day reporting and fly out to the UK in around 2 weeks.

Can I sort it out at the airport on the day that I depart?

What will happen at the airport if I go through immigration being (at that point) around 3.5 weeks overdue.

I want to avoid a trip to immigration in Chaengwattana if at all possible.

Thanks.

Nothing will happen at the airport. They aren't interested in the late 90 day report and you can't report or pay a fine there. You can leave without any problem.

When you re-enter the 90 days resets to day 1. However, next time you report they might see that you missed a report and fine you then.

Many thanks for your reply.

Much appreciated.

The airport immigration police do not care about 90 day reporting Only if your visa is a valid one Thats it

Have a nice flight back to the West

But, as Elviajero said, if he is returning to Thailand, when he does his next 90 day report they will most likely see that he failed to do the previous report and levy a fine.

I went to my home country and when i arrived the Airport for departure i looked in my passport and recall i had to do 90 days report before i leave.

I was 15 days late and was worry at the customs desk for a stamp leaving but notthing accurred.

The officer did not even looked at the 90 days paper in the back at passport.

When i went back home in thailand i reported at immogration 2 days later after entry and there was also not said anything about my missing

90 days report.

Dont know i was lucky or they dont care at new entry.

Anyway it is not anything bad as your retirement visa is valid i think.

Having read the above I am curious what happens if you leave after your 90 days without reporting but inside the 7 day period allowed ie: on day 93. It seems airport staff wouldn't care but what about ummugration once you return and do a 90 day report.

If a missing 90 report is noticed a fine may be levied .

As said departure immigration has no concern about 90 day reports. They only check the you still have a valid permit to stay (not a visa).

The 7 days after the report date is only for doing the report. If you are leaving on day 91 your report needs to be done before you leave.

If you leave without doing a report on or before the report date immigration may notice it when you do your first report after returning.

Thx for replies. A friend and I were just discussing this situation earlier in the week and were curious what needed to be done. Appreciated guys. :)

The maximum fine for being late for 90 day reporting is 2,000 baht I am sure you can afford that !

The maximum fine is actually 5000 Bht!

As I indicated a friend and I were curious about this situation. Can I afford 2000B, yes. Would I want to waste it on not doing a 90 day report, no likely, Ican find better things to spend 2000B on.

Yes I totally agree with the above comments. so do you next few reports ontime and you probably will escapee any fines

I really think think that leaving the country constitutes a report and the time counter is reset when you return. ie they have your place of residence each time. Please help me if i am wrong as I have never reported....ever.

Leaving does not negate the need for an 90 day report if one is due nor does leaving consitute such a report.

Leaving does not constitute a report. A report has to be made in writing on form TM47 (or online form) and to your local office. You have to report that you have stayed in the country for 90 days. Leaving without reporting doesn't stop the clock on that report. When you return the clock starts again but for the new 90 days following your entry.

If you left on day 91 and missed a report, then arrived back on day 100, then reported 90 days later you would have successfully reported the 90 day stay after entry, but by now the report you missed would be 100 days late and technically the IO could charge a late penalty.

This kind of a hit or miss situation as I have heard of peole caught at the airport and

delayed enough, paying fine etc,to miss flight ! I, not a risk taker, would do report now.

People are not "caught", delayed or fined at the airport for failing to make a 90 day report.

Those who overstay their "permission to stay date" will be fined but that is a different topic!
