rkidlad
I have my visa extension renewal next month at the beginning of October. I will apply about 28 days before it officially expires in November. I will apply for my renewal on the 12th October to which they hopefully give my my 30 day waiting period. Only problem is, I'm flying to Chiang Mai on the 17th October. Can I apply when I get back say the 22nd October? I don't wanna leave it too close to the official expiry date. Also, original date ( 12th Oct) is perfect 'cos the missus has to come with me. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
lopburi3
You keep your passport during the 30 day under review period if that is your concern. You can also fly with a drivers license from reports I have seen.
ubonjoe
Immigration does not keep you passport when you apply for the extension and then have the 30 day under consideration period. You will get your passport back as soon as you apply for the extension.

If they want to do a home visit they will know when not to visit. "Can I apply when I get back say the 22nd October?" You can apply any day before your current extension expires but it's a good idea to apply early if you can.
