Visa Run to home country

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

Im currently on another double Entry Tourist Visa.

My plan is to fly back to visit my family in germany after the first entry expires and activate the second one a week or two later when I coming back to thailand.

Does anybody know the procedure in european countries ?
Ive done that kind of visa runs only to riparian states like malaysia, cambodia, laos.

Normally you cross the border, stay there for a while and go back with a new stamp - thats it.

Is it the same in europe ?

Thank you very much for your help !

It does not matter where you are traveling from when you use the next entry on a tourist visa.

You just need to be sure you enter the country on or before the enter before date on your visa.

If I was going to Europe I would pick up a triple entry visa while I'm there, worth considering maybe ?

Ukrules took the words out of my mouth. Depending on when you wish to go home. Why not exit here in Thailand. Border run whatever and when time is up so to speak....go to Europe and get a triple entry. Happy days.

UKRULES....can you apply via mail in UK and Europe?

Can in AU

bit of a waste to go to Germany to do a border run, but if it fits in with other plans that what the heck.

"My plan is to visit my family......."

Pretty good reason

... of course it's 'worth considering' a triple-entry (touristvisa) while in EU already, wasn't a problem so far as far as i know, but now - at least at some (?) embassies - they want to see a fitting intinerary including flight- & hotelbookings abroad even for 2 entrys & that's an up-to-date-few-days-old 1st hand experience & not just hearsay! Is it getting ridiculous now? You bet!

You might be able to apply via mail at some embassies, certainly not all. And for (honorary) consulates - according to several ones in Germany they have been ordered to NOT accept mail applications anymore in early 2015, goes at least for Austria as well.

I was on marriage NON-O's for the last 6 or 7 years, ditched the bitc ... missus for several good reasons like gambling lots of bread down the drain, cheating while i was slaving away for some said euro and just for general uselessness (sounds familiar?) - with one & one exception only: the NON-O-'justification'.

Now - with these 'new rules' - i for my part shall have a lookaround for (warm & affordable) countries with better - at least realizeable - visa regulations, LOL ain't worth much effort anymore - again as far as i'm concerned (- and i guess i don't have to tell you it has exactly nothing to do with tha particular pussy as replacement is a matter of hours, well minutes).

Any suggestions in that direction while we're at it, folks? (not pussywise, for countries i mean ...)

Vietnam..oh and you can mail visa applications in AU
