Certificate of occupancy

Featured Replies

Read a few posts regarding the above seems can get it from immigration, can some one explain how and what you need to bring with you to get it.

Seems it's needed for everything from opening a bank account to buying a car, any info on this would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

When I opened a bank account I needed my passport only. But it is a while ago.

Passport only for opening bank account. I have accounts at 5 different Thai banks.wai2.gif

It is called a certificate of residency. Form to apply for one here: http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/download/pdf/res_cert.pdf

What is needed and whether you be will able to get one depends upon the immigration office you have to go to.

Thank you, since there is a form for it what is it used for?

To get a driver license or register a vehicle. Some banks also ask for one to open an account.

Often there is a requirement that it needs to have been issued within the last 30 days so not much point in squirreling a few away in advance.......smile.png

The last one that I got from immigration actually had the 30 day validity clause written in Thai at the bottom of the certificate.
