Carpenter in Korat area?

Featured Replies

I want to make some built in wardrobes and other things.

Can anyone recomend a carpenter in Korat area?

Thanks in advance

Some of the shops on the side of the roads that have furniture actually build the stuff. I bought a lot from one guy. There will always be tweeks that have to be made. Another problem is them using wood that is not dry so the finished piece shrinks and makes all kinds of gaps.

Better if you can procure the wood and make sure it is dry before they build.

Once upon a time we had some built-in wardrobes and dressing table made, but the quality of the wood was not so good and there was no way to re-arrange the room if required at a later date. We eventually knocked that house down and built a new one, but this time decided to buy pre-built wardrobes which could be joined to-gether acting much like built in units but without the problems of poor quality wood. The two photos show two different wardrobes just after they were installed by the shop in Roi Et from where we bought them. The dark coloured ones are made by a company called McMichael here in Thailand who make good quality, off-the-shelf furniture. The wardrobes were all joined together with a continuous top piece.

Doing that we got the benefits of built-in furniture without the problems, and if I ever want to move the wardrobes I could, with some effort, do so.
