How To Easily Boot Windows 10 Into Safe More AND Back Without A Headache...

Featured Replies

Hello and Sawasdee khrap,

I had a little headache with a program that didn't run on Windows 10 and I had to boot it in safe mode to get it done.

Well, unfortunately did it work well, using the command msconfig, to get to System Configuration.

But there's no way to get back to normal. I've really tried all, looked it up online, even did a system restore, but was still in safe mode after restoring successfully.

P.S. No internet in safe mode and the search function wasn't working to write the command ether.

Then shortly before committing suicide, or better killing my PC, I found the solution, which I've attached as a PDF file.

It really took three god damn hours to find such an easy solution. Hope it helps some of you guys. Good day. wai2.gif

Just wondering if it works? 75 downloads, but not even one positive post?

Was my explanation easy enough for the "usual" computer user? Thanks a lot. thumbsup.gif

I did the d/l even though I work just about exclusively in Linux Mint. But looked like good info to pass on to some Microserf friends, both here and in the USA.

I did much the same a few weeks ago, typing msconfig on the Win10 start menu. Works OK. Toggle Safe Boot on/off.

Maybe you didn't get my point. I couldn't get back to type anything into search, because it didn't open.

Nor could I go online, because I had no internet in safe mode. Imagine there's no more start menu, I mean no search function......

Playing with words, right? "It looks like good info" sounds great over an issue that was almost driving me nuts. But thanks for responding.

Sometimes safemode won't let me have access to the windows menu.

I just use {WindowsKey}+R (run) and then type msconfig and that works fine.

By the way, your .pdf wanted to download directly to my system and not open directly in my Google Chrome Browser (like most every other .pdf) so I didn't even look at it. Sorry.

The problem starts when you can't use the search function anymore. No internet and even a successful system restore didn't get the system back to "normal".

Here's a different type of file, especially for you..thumbsup.gif

Yes, it wasn't clear from the op what the exact issue was to me as the 3rd and 4th lines of that post were confusing. I agree with Richcor very informative replies on his methods outlined to start Win10 safe mode using Win +R and Shift Restart - and these have worked for me in past.

I finally managed to break Win 10.

I tried installing FortiClient and it wouldn't work, and then it wouldn't uninstalling, citing "permissions", even though I was logged in as admin.

So I tried to restore to the point before the install, and on reboot I got a blue screen.

Rebooted again, still blue screen (which means no chance of going into safe mode).

So instead I did an "Advanced repair", and restored to the point prior, and it all came up sweetly.

Which is nice.
