With the newest crackdown at the borders. Is it still possible to cross the borders at Ranong or Mae Sai and return the same day ? Or are you now made to spend the night outside the country. Any word about any problems with the borders with Malaysia ?

If you have a valid visa you will not have a problem.

If you cross at Sadao you might be told you need to stay overnight. That is the only crossing that does that.
