Non-B problem

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I have a non-B visa which was acquired in the UK a couple of months ago, as I am starting work at my friends hotel.

As it's their first time there has been a bit of a scramble to get the paperwork together, however my work permit was already issued in July. The problem is, the visa expires on the 25th of this month and immigration is holding us up on some documents that we haven't got yet (to extend the visa) and it looks like it will take longer than 9 days to get these documents together.

So it seems like I am going to have to go to Malaysia to get a new non-B visa, my question is, will the work permit now become void, or will i be able to get a new non B and return to immigration for the extension when we have all the paperwork without having to do the work permit all over again?

Also, is KL a good option for this?

Best regards,

Ryk.

Going out and getting a single non-b visa would have no effect on your work permit.

Penang or anywhere else would be better than KL to get your visa.

If you have 8 months or more remaining on your work permit you could get a multiple entry non-b visa in Penang.

Thanks for your swift reply Joe, thats good to know. I had heard a few people saying KL was an unfavourable detination so maybe Penangis a better bet.

Cheers again,

Ryk.
