Multi Entry, Non-Imm B - Leaving Country

Featured Replies

I currently have a Non-Imm B visa with multiple entires.

I'll be leaving the country for the first time with this visa and want to make sure I don't invalidate it on accident. What is the precedure for leaving the country on a multiple entry? From what I gather I don't need a rentry stamp and I am able to leave the country and come back as many times as I please with this mutiple entry visa, correct? Do I need to bring my work permit along?

Any advice welcome,

Thanks

If you have a valid multi-entry visa all you need do is exit.

On return you will be given permission to stay for 90 days.

Holding a multi-entry "B" visa requires that you leave every 90 days, returning for a new entry.

Requires me to leave every 90 days? I never heard of anything like that. Why would that be needed? My current stamp is for 1 year.

Yes you are correct. As many times as you want but the only condition is that each stay is a maximum of 90 days.

"Do I need to bring my work permit along?"

It is not a condition of entry that you have to have WP to re-enter. The visa is valid whether or not you have a WP.

I may have confused you guys. I have Non-Imm B Multiple Entry 1 year visa with work pertmet of 1 year as well as a stamp for 1 year. The immigration officer even stapled the "Notice of staying in Thailand longer than 90 days notfication" paper in my passport.

Now why would I need to leave every 90 days? Maybe thats for the 90 day multiple entry?

Yes you did :)

You don't have a Non B Visa but a 1 year extension of stay. You can leave the country whenever you want but need a re-entry permit. You can apply for one at your immigrant office or at the airport. Single re-entry permit costs 1,000 baht. Multiple re-entry permit costs 3,800 baht.

That means you have an "extension of stay" NOT a "visa"

You will need a re-entry permit to keep the extension of stay alive.

Got it! Actually.. I should have known the difference by now. Apologies.

I think what confused me was the immigration officer asking me if I wanted multiple entries to leave and come back so I said yea. Not sure why I even paid for it cause I was under the impression I didn't need re-entry stamp because I had the multiple entry.
