MOPH supplies first-aid kits to all households in flood-hit areas

BANGKOK, 19 September 2015 (NNT) – The Ministry of Public Health has sent out its teams to all flood-stricken provinces in order to assist local residents and equip all households with first-aid kits.

Speaking of his ministry’s effort to reach out to flood-affected people, Public Health Minister Dr Piyasakol Sakolsattayathorn revealed that medical units have been dispatched to all troubled provinces in a bid to take care of residents and make sure they remain in good health. He said the officials, on this occasion, also distributed household first-aid kits numbering 10,000-50,000 units which had been delivered to each province earlier. Another 500,000 sets have been reserved at the Government Pharmaceutical Organization, ready to be sent to any areas upon request.

In the meantime, local authorities and village health volunteers are joining hands to search for people who belong to the five groups that need special attention, namely pregnant women, the elderly, the disabled, patients with chronic diseases and the mentally-ill.

Those who have chronic diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension and epilepsy, and need constant medication are encouraged to request medical support from mobile medical units, village health volunteers or health promotion hospitals or call the hotline number 1669.

When your house is up to its roof line in water i don't think a first aid kit is going to be much use !

what about a boat aswell.

Sorted, just apply a sticky plaster.

I believe this is the prefered option to a lot of problems experienced in this country.
