Android app spam

Every time I open my Lenovo A936 (Android 4.4.4,) or open the browser, it tries to download apps I have not selected..it goes right to the Play Store install page...each time I have to physically close it out.

On my notifications page, one of these apps will be listed with an Android icon next to it. When I long press the icon, it goes to the settings app page for "ANDROID SYS 4.0"

I haven't dared to disable this app as it seems to be a system app and I'm afraid of bricking the phone.

The constant interruptions of whatever I am doing, trying to download apps I don't want is super annoying but I can't find very much about this problem searching online. Googleing "Android SYS 4.0" gets discussions about Ice Cream Sand. from 2012.

One more question. As a TRUE Online subscriber, I get free TRUE WiFi around Bangkok. Recently, when I try to sign on to TRUE, I get "Disabled" and cant sign on. Another phone I have signs on with no problem. I've gone through every setting I can think of and can't find a reason why. Any ideas?
