September 22, 201510 yr Hi all, I'm headed for CM next week and will need a temporary place to stay while looking for a rental. I don't have a lot of stuff, but enough to fill a pickup truck including a mattress, fridge, and a TV. A hotel room might work, but I'm not sure if they would put up with me and a room packed with stuff. Suggestions, anyone? Thanks!
September 22, 201510 yr PM me and I will give you the name of a place close to everything. Its a condo. You will not need a car. Give me a price range.
September 23, 201510 yr can i ask why you locating to chaing mai and where you moved from? i have intentions of moving there myself so would like to learn more about the place and why people choose to live there, thanks
September 23, 201510 yr Pick a hotel with good security and just leave the truck there with it's cargo.
September 23, 201510 yr I am renting a 4 bedroom house in the centre of chiang mai near wat phrasing and have 3 bedrooms available and also storage space contact me if you are interested
September 23, 201510 yr I was almost in the same boat a couple months ago (moving back to Chiang Mai from Bangkok). I was going to stay at "Life In Town". You can do a one month rental, very cheap, and they can remove the furniture (Bed, TV, fridge) if you are bringing your own. They also discount the rent even further, if you bring your own furniture. I ended up flying up for 2 long weekends before the big move and finding a place I liked, so didn't end up staying there. However, I lived there for 11-12 months, many years ago. Quiet, convienent, and no problems at all. -Mestizo Edited September 23, 201510 yr by Mestizo

September 23, 201510 yr What's not clear is: do you need secure parking for a pickup truck with stuff in it? If you don't, any guesthouse should not mind you putting your stuff in the room while you are there. A hotel would be more expensive and maybe would not like all that stuff. There are loads of guesthouses around, but Veerachai has parking available and maybe different sized rooms, and well-located: http://www.booking.com/hotel/th/veerachai-court.en-gb.html?aid=357002;label=gog235jc-hotel-XX-th-veerachaiNcourt-unspec-th-com-L%3Aen-O%3Aunk-B%3Aunk-N%3AXX-S%3Abo-U%3AXX;sid=f44da2ffeae3a356130711b2821fda2f;dcid=4;dist=0&sb_price_type=total&type=total&
September 23, 201510 yr Author Thanks for the ideas- the truck is for delivery and unloading only, so I'll need a place to house me and my stuff until I find something permanent. PBR
