30 day extension need for a 60 days tourist visa

Featured Replies

Can some one clue me in on what forms/documents other then passport I will need take to the Immigration office to apply for a 30 day extension for my 60 days tourist visa. Also I assume that's a one day trip to Immigrations and how far in advance of the 60 day visa expiring would be recommended to apply for the extension??

Thanks for the advise......

It appears I need to submit the Form TM.7 "Application For Extension Of Temporary Stay In The Kingdom"?? Is there any other form I will need to provide??

You can apply for the extension a couple of weeks before the admitted until date on your entry stamp, You lose nothing by doing it early the extension starts from the date your entry ends. You are not extending your visa just the permit to stay from it.

You will only need a completed TM7 form with a 4 cm X 6 cm photo attached. Download and print 2 sided, http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/download/pdf/tm7.pdf

You will also need copies of your passport photo page, visa, entry/permit to stay stamp and TM6 departure card.

Thanks Joe. I stay in Prachinburi and would have normally just did a Poi Pet In and Outer, but looks

like that dog don't hunt anymore......

You can still do an out/in border hop if you have a valid visa to use for entry. Only out/in hops for a new visa exempt entry is prohibited according the last info I have seen and that is only at Poi Pet and 2 other crossings.

Let me see if I got this right Joe. If I go out at poi pet with a valid tourist visa and come back the same day immigration will give me a 30 day on arrival stamp and I would be legal in the kingdom for 30 days from that date??

Your post I was replying to implied that you would normally just go and get a new entry from your visa instead of the extension.

If you have a tourist visa with additional entries reaming on it you would get a new 60 day entry if you did it on or before the enter before date on the visa.

If you had no visa you would not be allowed a out/in crossing.

Ok Joe I understand now. My only options are to fly out and back or get a 30 day extension on my 60 days

visa. This will not be a problem until Feb next year and maybe by that time the dog will start

hunting again and out/in will be back as always ...Thanks for the input....

Why don't you want to apply for the 30 day extension of your 60 day entry at an immigration office? Much better and in most cases cheaper that doing a dong an out and in.

5555...Yes Joe but my wife is Thai and she just loves shopping at poi pet while I'm sweating in immigrations for 2-3 hour while she spend baht at the market ...Joe it may be a lot cheaper to pay immigration 1.9k then the fuel for my car and market spending....LOL/555...

Thanks Joe for the help....

I wrote in most cases. You still have the $30 for the Cambodia visa to pay for.

If you are legally married to a Thai you can get a 60 day extension at immigration for the same 1900 fee to visit your wife.

You can also get a multiple entry non-o visa at the consulate in Savannakhet Laos that would give you unlimited 90 day entries for a year with no financial proof needed.

p

oh thks joe. My wife is a US green carder. We have a house in Prachinburi and spend about 5 months in

Thailand and the rest of our time in Las Vegas. Every thing was great until the shift in policy not

interested in living in Thailand full time yet, maybe in the future.

Sorry for my question....i would to know where i can do the Extension Visa (TM7) and the Change of Address Notify (TM28). I have a double entry tourist visa...Im from Italy.

I know the Immigration Office at The Govenment Complex Commemorating His Majesty The King Chaengwattana in Chaeng Wattana road.

But have another office in Bangkok good for my requests?

Thankyou.

There is no other office you can use.
