Thai police claim first suspect they arrested is Bangkok shrine bomber

BANGKOK: -- Authorities say the man identified as Adem Karadag was seen on CCTV, despite earlier saying it was unlikely either of the two men detained were the bomber

One woman dead, second seriously injured in high-speed Phuket bike crash

PHUKET: One woman died and a second woman was hospitalised with serious injuries when the motorbike they were riding crashed into a wall in Kamala last night (Sept 25).

Biometric technology to be introduced to fight and stop transnational crimes

BANGKOK: -- The Royal Thai Police will soon introduce the biometric technology at immigration checkpoints across the country to help officials screen criminals and people who could pose security risk to the country from entering the country easily.

SABANG, Indonesia (AP) — The Thai captain of a seized cargo ship carrying an estimated $2 million worth of seafood has been arrested in Indonesia on suspicion of illegal fishing, in the latest development linked to an Associated Press investigation that uncovered a slave island earlier this year. At least one other crew member is still under scrutiny.

Foreign tourist killed, scores injured in boat accident near famous floating market


BANGKOK (AP) — A trip to see fireflies has turned into tragedy in Thailand when two boats collided in the night, killing a woman from Hungary and seriously injuring a South Korean along with nearly two dozen other tourists, police said Saturday.

Switzerland bans sale of many VW diesel models amid emissions scandal

Meteorological Department forecasts more rain for the northern region

BANGKOK, 26 September 2015 (NNT)- The Meterological Department has forecast more rain for the northern region of Thailand, with heavy rains in certain areas. Experts say strong winds are expected along the Andaman coast and northern part of the Gulf of Thailand. Boats in the areas advised to proceed with caution as currents are expected to be as high as 2 meters.

As for Bangkok and its vicinity, cloudy skies are expected from 6:00 AM to 6:00PM today, with possible scattered showers expected during the afternoon and evening.
