How Did They Do That?

No doubt some of you have seen this done before but I hadn't until yesterday.

I didn't understand the source code but I can see the advantage of this method of having virtually instant video for the viewer.

Is there a time limit to the videos? This one is around 3.25

Is it simple to setup?

No info at Youtube that I could find.

cheers

Yes very easy to set up, beside every video on Google Video and You Tube they provide a link which says embed url - so the URL for this video is

So they have stuck it in player which is this part of the source code on the page

<object width="425" height="350">
<param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/MjcAkgbaCfw&autoplay=1"/>
<param name="wmode" value="transparent"/><embed width="425" height="350" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/MjcAkgbaCfw&autoplay=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent"></embed></object>

If you had a youtube example you would replace

with the link you wanted to use, copy and paste it onto your site, blog etc... and it will show

PM if you get stuck or need more explanation as its very simple to get working, if its a Google video iits slightly different but the same logic

No time limit to the videos so can be any length. If you had a video that someone has sent you as an attachment, its also very easy to set up on a site,blog

Hi Remo.

Many thanks, just the info I need.

I missed the "embed url" link, will look harder next time. :o

Have you seen the same elsewhere?

cheers.

On GoogleVideo beside every video there is a link on the right which says "Post to My Space" click on that and you will get another link saying embed HTML - click on that and it will just generate the code for you

The larger video sites generally offer this, if they dont they tend to have a "download" link for the video
