Foreign Ministry launches 'Thaiconsular' app
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- The Foreign Affairs Ministry Monday officially launched the Department of Consular Affairs' call centre number 025728442, official ID Line namely "Thaiconsular" and mobile phone application called "Thaiconsular".

These would be additional channels for people to obtain information about documents needed for Thai passport application and consular services such as Thai visa for foreigners as well as contacting Thai relatives in case of an emergency aboard.

Ministry's permanent secretary Norachit Sinhaseni, who presided over the Monday event, said this call centre had officials stationing at 30 phone lines, which would expand to be 100 lines in future.

In this event, department director-general Thongchai Chasawath also signed an agreement with acting Thailand Post president Piyawat Mahapauraya for the service that allow public members to submit via Thailand Post's 1,200 branch offices nationwide the documents for legal translation and certification (for study or long-term stay in other country) - the forms for which could be downloaded at http://www.consular.go.th.

The post office would send such documents to the department for translation and certification before sending them back to the applicants within two weeks so this could help save time and travel expenses for the applicants.

i realise this is thai assist based but seeing as how it mentioned foreigners i guess it is related to my needs

Just dowloaded the app from Playstore. It has some good info if you are fluent in Thai as there is no english option.

Neither thaiconsular nor Thai Consular seem to have a LINE ID at the moment. Or would it have an ID in Thai script?

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

Until the Department of Consular Affairs is available on LINE, let's keep a record of their address, email address, phone and fax details for notifications of outrageously unreasonable requests for visa applications (abuse of authority) by some embassies and consulates and outright refusal of some types of visas (dereliction of duty) by some, eg denial of double-entry tourist visa in Paris.

I was assuming it would be all in Thai. Wont they ever wake up to the fact that Thai's dont need the form. The people who need them dont read Thai
