Hey all,

I started a facebook group sometime ago for buying and selling second hand cars in Thailand, it quickly took off more than I was expecting, I now have nearly 10,000 members and cars are being listed pretty much every few hours also I know users are selling there cars through my group.

Question is, is one able to sell a facebook group/page? I do not have massive time to manage this due to other commitments and to be honest I did not expect it to become so large, is there anyway of selling such a group? the group is 'Second Hand Cars For Sale In Thailand' and is completely spam free.

I am not hoping to make millions but I feel it may be of value to someone out there... is it something you can even do to sell a facebook group?

Thanks,

Why would anyone buy it when they can just start their own page doing the exact same thing ? No doubt Facebook is delighted at the numbers of people liking or using this page and will be generating a lot of cash for them. whistling.gif

I have heard that there are companies on facebook that pay people to click like, but actually selling a facebook profile or group I somehow doubt is legal, considering that the page belongs to facebook and is not a commercial website with a personal domain.

I suggest reading the facebook terms and conditions or contacting them first. Obviously if someone is willing to pay to take over a group, then that would be a strictly private affair between all parties.

You could sell it privately to someone in that Business and transfer the admin to the buyer. Digital marketing is massive and a massive cost, so I am sure you will get a sale or monetize it yourself?

Car rental companies or other Affiliate will pay to to advertise on your FB group.

Example: avis.com/car-rental Affiliate program...

Thanks all,

Read up a little more now and understand I do not actually own the group... sure anyone could do it but it has taken months and months of deleting spam, checking posts, advertising the group to get a genuine group for selling/buying cars in TH.

Do you make any revenue from it?

Nope none at all! I really struggled when I first got to Thailand to find a decent spot to search for second hand cars in english. The idea was to create one central place so people could browse second hand motors for sale, mainly aimed at expats... it works well and people do post, cheers

Can I sell my always on facebook chatting wife?

Lol not to me mate already got one, but feel free to list her on my group... be sure to include milage and full specs though buddy, heh joke

Well you can, but it is against FB rules. Will they care? Probably not. 1000's of fanpages get sold/traded daily. How do I know? I own http://fanpagecash.org (and ViralAccounts.com), so I do this on daily basis. I scour the web for people who are looking to sell, so if you're interested give us a try.

Hey mate, had a look at your site and looking at the rules, rule #1 already counts me out :(

Fan count. We no longer purchase small fanpages, 100,000 fans is the absolute minimum. Twitter / Vine + Instagrams limits are set at 30,000.

Cheers

Whoops, I am so sorry. I made a mistake, I thought it said 100,000 :(

Well you could still sell it on sites like WarriorForum / Blackhatworld, however don't expect much. (probably somewhere between 20-40 USD)
