I will need to get my visa extension around that time. I return to Pattaya on 30 Dec. I want to do it in Pattaya because it is easy there.

The 31st is a holiday I believe and they will be closed.

Based on past events, the government may make the 30th a holiday also to make the the period of 30th, 31st, 1st, 2nd , & 3rd a longer holiday for the work force. As we get closer to the day, we will find out what they will declare.

Go early, you must be new in country or you have 7 days after but it is News Year. You have 3 months to get an education, how about going to immigration and ask or better yet on LINE>

There is already a long weekend from 31st to 3rd Jan, so unlikely it will be extended even longer.

Generally I would avoid such a date whenever possible.

Well, my calendar matches the info you have been given. 31st and 1st are holidays for immigration, then 2nd/3rd you got the weekend. The 4th is likely to be busy. Mine is due slightly before then and I make a point of doing it early.
