Trang province to organize Global Hand Washing Day

TRANG, 5 October 2015 (NNT) - Trang province will organize an annual activity called Global Hand Washing Day on 15th October.

Dr. Witoon Luangdilok, chief of Trang Provincial Public Health Office, said the Global Hand Washing Day, originally launched by the United Nations General Assembly, will see children at schools and those at hospitals, temples and other public places throughout the southern province wash their hands that day.

That mass activity is designed to promote hygienic awareness and set a good example for the global population to wash their hands with soap and water which is a cheap and effective way in preventing infectious diseases.

By Joshua Kurlantzick

Thai authorities claim progress, but many observers are dubious

BANGKOK: -- More than a month after the deadly bombing at central Bangkok’s Erawan shrine, the Thai authorities have made two arrests in the case, and issued at least seventeen arrest warrants overall.
