Mobile Phones With Excellent Sound Quality

Featured Replies

Are there mobile phones which have an excelllent sound quality/audibility ? The sound quallity of my Nokia 3315 is rather poor, especially when I compare this phone with my old Philips Savvy Dual Band. Any recommendations ?

I have a Sony Ericsson k750i and consider the sound quality excellant. Made a call to the US the other day and was clear as a bell. Also it has a built in MP3 player which also very good quality sound.

If you are talking about musical sound quality, I am impressed with my Nokia 6630's output using an added application, PowerMP3. It has a preamp and 10 band equalizer.

Try a LG KG800 or a Nokia 6230i. I use both phones and the sound quality from both is great.

I've been very happy with a couple of Nokias...maybe you got a dud? I've been very *unhappy* with 2 Ericsons and Motorola.

Try before you buy!

Yes I've heard the SE k750 has got excellent sound. My friend highly recommends it. Personally I like my motorola L6. It produces clear sound and is suitable for someone on a tight budget. I got mine for 6500 baht but that was a while ago. I think now they sell for a little over 4000 baht! An absolute bargain if you don't mind frying your brains with radiation. The L6 emits a lot of radiation compared to most phones but so do many of the motorola brands.

I was posing this exact question the other day.

A mobile phone is little a 2-way radio, sure its a very specialised one, but its a 2-way radio. If I go to a shop and want to purchase a 2-way, I gen get endless amount of technical specification of the performance of these rasio's, like sensitivity, signal and noise ratio's, channel seperation etc etc.

This sort of information seems to have disappeared from the market for cell-phones.

What troubles me more is most of the phone companies will sell just the cellphone "Chip-set" as an OEM part to be incorporated into other devices.

I had a Nokia 6230i and I thought it was a very good handset for signal clarity, but I lost that 12,000 Baht handset and I bought a Nokia 2100 for 800 Baht and it seems to perform better, particularly upcountry.

The best GSM handset I had was the old Panasonic that had the on and off switch. It would dig a signal out of almost anywhere. I wish I still had it.

I would also like to change my mobile.

My preferences - good quality sound and also with the screen for one with impaired eyesight.

MP3 player is an advantage, but preferably without a digital camera (to save on price).

A variation of the question: Where is a vendor in BKK or CM that will stand behind this "good sounding" mobile? One of the manufacturer's stores? Anyplace at MBK? Thanks, Guys.

Sorry you are mixing two different topics here.

Sensitivity and signal to noise ratio are not the same as Audio Quality which is what the OP needs.

Remember all phones are digital now, so you either have a signal or not. There is no in between.

What about Nokia 6030 ?

It is quite simple with the 128x128 pixels and CSTN, 65K colors display, and has some positive reviews >> http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/nokia-6030.htm
