October 11, 201510 yr You just click "Details" then "view anyway" down the bottom of the warning page. Exactly. This Big Red Warning regularly shows up on Putlocker too. Ignore it
October 11, 201510 yr Ignore at your own risk - there is a reason that warning is coming up - although it can hang on after it has been taken care of. That site indeed had very deceiving pages this week (beyond the normal new tab opening). The big site is still a valid alternative - thepiratebay.vg

Actually I was not talking about selected downloads - just connecting to there web site often brings up an addition advertising tab and last week presented something that if I had not known better than click could have lead to download of malware. The reason for blockage is not there normal downloads that you make an informed decision to download.
October 11, 201510 yr Author What is kickass Kickass is a torrents site where you can download things like movies, TV programs and software amongst other stuff. https://kat.cr/ I don't believe you can pick up a virus by just clicking on the website. Downloading some content that has hidden nasties can be a problem but I stay away from porn and the like and have not had a problem with them. As far as I know most virus protection programs have a "Scan with" in the right click mouse menu option and it's a good idea to use this scan if there is some doubt about a program you have downloaded.

October 11, 201510 yr You can indeed get infected from malicious site, which can possibly run a script (when java is enabled). Some antivirus software will help guard against these sites. This can also happen when you get a link to a malicious site ...for example...you are chatting with somebody and they send you a link to a malicious site. October 11, 201510 yr It was not a pop-up but a new tab opening with advertising at first access that had been getting for a week or more - but yesterday or day before got something else (short term memory loss but appeared to be something requiring action on my computer but actually was web site - believe action would have been to install malware). I have loaded site since getting warning and all appears OK but will avoid for a couple of days - not the first time such blockage has occurred.
October 11, 201510 yr A lot of talk when no one knows anything https://torrentfreak.com/chrome-and-firefox-block-kickasstorrents-over-harmful-programs-151009/ Google is taking side again!!
October 11, 201510 yr Since a month or 2 , Kickass started to open advertising in a new window and filling my pagefile memory to 2 GB and more. Only on this site , and I am surfing with an old version of FF. Just disabeling Java , and it works fine. But FF never blocked K.A.

See where it says "If you understand the risks to your security, you may visit this site before the harmful programs have been removed." October 11, 201510 yr Its been down before don't panic, the operators are so much smarter than the governments trying to stop them

October 12, 201510 yr Actually this is an index - not a download site - only downloads are web pages and, if you use them, index lists. What most people have problems with are those lists containing links to infected downloads, And actually Kickass is quite good at limiting this by there up-loader registration process and verification. But believe current issue is some of there advertisers (who have likely been removed) rather than intentional downloads of torrents (which is always at your own risk).
October 12, 201510 yr Opera seems to be doing just fine on kat, along with some popup blocks and ad killers, I'm not seeing anything nefarious.
