PATTAYA: -- A 26 year old Thai Tourist from Bangkok died and two of her friends were injured as they travelled down a steep mountain road on Larn Island on Sunday Afternoon.

Police and rescue services attended the scene of the crash, near Samae Beach on the Island, just before 4pm. Khun Porntip was gravely injured and was rushed to a medical facility at the Island where she later died from her injuries.

All three of the victims of the crash arrived on the Island on 10th October and had come from Bangkok to enjoy a short holiday on the Island. They rented a motorbike and before the accident all three were on one bike and none of them were wearing safety helmets.

nothing new here folks, just 'Again and Again and Again and Again''...

sad but true..

Safety ??? emmmmm whats that...???

3 up, no safety helmets, bad roads = expected results.

Also that walkingbridge to the main touristbeach is about to collapse. Many parts allready broke off and tourists have to climb over rocks in the missing parts.

So these 3 Thai were together on a Honda Click driving on those very steap roads? I also rented a Click there and the brakes were not working properly which was very dangerous.

Three on a bike, on a steep road, none wearing helmets. What could possibly go wrong? I often wonder here how people can be so utterly stupid.

It's called "Vanity".

We all remember that, when we were younger

Tragic that a young life is wasted

RIP young lady

three on a bike and not one wore a safety helmet a recipe for disaster I don't think speed was the cause I think the lack of knowledge of the island could very well be the cause .

I wasn't aware that Pattaya had an island ! I must get out more. Oh but not Pattaya or that other island that starts with P.

I guess that Ko Lan is administered by Pattaya city? (I could be wrong)

So it would well be OK to say that Pattaya has an island, they don't say it is an island.

Rented a bike once on the island. Returned it after I nearly lost it on a downhill run with very minimal brakes. If you ever rent a bike, check it out first. Lesson learned the hard way.

the lack of knowledge of the island could very well be the cause .

dont know, but where i come from common sense and the Driving instructor teaches "drive as your own a d your surrounding conditions allow"

Not knowing a place as cause of a accident is simply a excuse.
