summerT Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 First off hi all, first time posting but been lurking around for a while now Just a few questions about the new rules coming into effect today regarding V.O.A's 1, Will the new rules still be passed even though the coup had happend? 2, I read in the pattaya today, that under the new rules you will be able to do three back to back boader crossings, and then go to an embassy outside Thailand and obtain a single entry tourist visa which now lasts 90 days then after 90 days do three more back to backs, and so on.... Is this true? 3, I'm on a non im B, are there any changes to this visa? Thanks in advance for any info.
lopburi3 Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 1. The new rules have not been suspended. 2. There is no rule about back to back border crossings. There is a rule on 90 days per 6 month period. The number of crossings are not the factor. It is the number of days you stay on visa exempt status. This is not a visa on arrival. You pay for a visa. This is visa exempt entry. At this time change to visa entry should be possible. 3. No changes announced.
summerT Posted October 1, 2006 Author Posted October 1, 2006 Thanks for the info guys. Lopburi please forgive me but I dont fully understand your answer to question 2, are you saying yes the 30+30+30 then a 90 dayer from a consulate is ok and wil be possible? Cheers
lopburi3 Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 I am saying that they plan to count days, not entries, so 10+20+30+10+20 just as 30+30+30 would equal the 90 days allowance for non visa entry and that you could then enter with a visa.
