BANGKOK, 14 October 2015 (NNT) - The Tourism Council of Thailand (TCT) and Tak Tourism Business Association (TBA) will launch a road tour to Myanmar in December via a new road funded by the Thai government.

The TCT and Tak TBA have decided to schedule a caravan to Myanmar from December 17 – 20 through several cities with historical significance. President of Tak TBA Police Captain Sombat Pannarong said that Tak could potentially become a gateway to international tourism.

Police Captain Sombat he revealed that the 45-kilometer road, also known as the AH1, was built to reduce travel time between Myawaddy and Kokarek. The route saves an average of 3.5 hours and has also reduced travel time to Yangon.
