How can I extend non B visa for a year?

Featured Replies

Hi,

First of all, I need to clarify that I don't have any Work Permit. I'm only holding non-B visa.

I'm currently living in Thailand with Non-B visa for 90days with single entry. And I'd like to extend it to 1 year non-B visa (without having Work Permit).

My plan is, going to Denmark next month as a trip, and try to get 1 year non-B visa. Is that possible?

My company is based in Singapore, so I know it's the best to go to do it in Singapore, however as I already planned to go to Denmark as a trip, if I can do a visa process there, it would be the best.

Question is

1. As I'm just a traveller in Denmark, (not a residency or working for Denmark company) can I get 1 year non B visa in embassy in Denmark?

2. Many people seems like they get Work permit after Single entry non-B visa 90days, however I don't want to get WP. It's fine to get 1 year non B visa, right? (I'm not 'working' in TH, I do training and business meeting only in TH)

Thanks,

MJ

Doubt , on the basis you suggest that a "one year" visa would be issued anywhere unless your Company can provide paperwork which justifies such a visa.

Info on their website indicates they will not do a visa for you.

From info for getting a visa. http://thaiembassy.dk/easy-steps-to-apply-for-visa-to-thailand/

"Copy of the residence permit AND/OR copy of the yellow CPR card if you are a non-Danish national residing in Denmark"

Perhaps contact them to confirm.

Yup, I already emailed to Thai embassy in Denmark. Thanks!

So as long as my company and thai company which I work with, provide all the documents, there should be no problem?

I suppose it depends on what you mean by this, but it sounds as if you'll be working in Thailand, but you don't want a work permit??

If i understand the rules correctly you dont need a WP to attend training courses and seminars etc, but I think the person persenting the course is classed as working and does require a WP.....would think if the OP is living in Thailand full time and training people he would be treading a very thin line indeed, i do know when the company i work for brings people in to do training they arrange a temporary WP for the duration

Sorry for the confusion. My company is helping Thai company. I'm only conducting training them, and have a business meeting so often. I don't even 'work' in TH office, just my company put me in a condo in Bangkok.

Do I need Work permit? 1. I'm not 'working' in TH company. 2. I'm not paid by TH company 3.I'm already paying tax to singapore, as I know, If I get Work Permit, I need to pay tax even to TH isn't it?

Thanks!

Thanks for the clarification. However, my training is mostly for some small meetings, I think I need to check for WP though. But now sure, TH company will sponsor it. How about income? I'm paid in Singapore and paying tax in Singapore. If I get WP, do I need to pay tax twice in TH and SG? thanks!

Based on your other post you were seconded here by your Singapore company to conduct training for a Thai company and your living here long term..?

I would suggest this is outside the accepted interpretation of only needing a B visa to conduct "business meetings" and in fact you are working and require a WP,

the Thai company your doing the work for need to apply for the WP for you, you will not be taxed twice, but suspect they will take withholding tax off you in Thailand but you need to check

fixed quoting error by removing the excess and uneeded quotes only 4 are allowed

OK, The laws in Thailand are strict for Farangs working. Get the thai company to get you a work permit immediately as your extension will not be approved.
