Fire at Khlong Thom market

BANGKOK: -- A night fire broke out shortly after midnight last night at Khlong Thom, Bangkok's largest and bustling market for electrical appliances and mobile phones from China, gutted two blocks of the row-shop stalls.

Two firemen were injured from suffocation when they entered the four-storey building at the market place of Khlong Thom Shopping Centre at 12.30 am today to put out the fire.

The fire started from Room E13-1-6 and E14-1-6 which sold car video cameras and accessories.

Twenty fire engines were rushed to the market place and were able to put it under control 20 minutes later.

Two firemen suffocated by smokes were sent to Hua Chiew hospital for treatment.

Forensic police were inspecting the two gutted ROMs to find the exact cause of the fire.
